Every girl loves a chance to dress up, fix her hair, try a bold new lipstick and have a fun place to go looking and feeling great!
A little black dress, amazing shoes, yummy munchies, lively music and prizes all add up to the perfect setting for fun and girlfriend time.
During the last 13 years of my Mary Kay business, I’ve attended a mix of events that helped me come up with the idea. Plus, I love shoes! So I combined my love of shoes and my desire to raise money for The Mary Kay Foundation℠, and the Little Black Dress event was born!
With the help of my Future Area and sister Mary Kay Independent Sales Directors, I’ve hosted Little Black Dress events in Philadelphia, Dallas and St. Louis for the past seven years. We all enjoy seeing each other and sharing in the fun with our guests.
For about two hours, guests enjoy snacks and mingle through our Beauty Bars to discuss the products. We display the product on colorfully decorated tables, with seasoned Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants and Sales Directors on hand to help. Our guests can also donate to The Mary Kay Foundation℠ to get tickets for prize drawings, which go on all evening.
My favorite part of the evening is our Sexy High Heel contest, which gets very competitive! We have two categories: independent sales force members and guests. So we double the fun, and everyone feels like a model! Each participant donates $1 to The Mary Kay Foundation℠ to participate. Then, the ladies walk across the red carpet, and the audience votes on the sexiest high heel.
Between contests, we educate our guests about The Mary Kay Foundation℠. Because the two causes are very dear to many of us, this event really connects both independent sales force members and guests at the heart level.
