April 2, 2013 /3BL Media/- Julia Lopes Ferreira brings expertise in strategic management, business development and packaging R&D in her role as Associate. Having worked over eight years as both a chemical engineer and management consultant for multiple Brazilian engineering firms and various multinational companies in different market segments, she has experience in new project development oversight and strategic planning leadership. Julia’s technical acumen, combined with excellent social skills and extensive international experience, make her a valued partner serving our global client base. As part of our broader business growth strategies, she will also help lead efforts to develop the GCC’s presence and recognition of our service capabilities within the Brazilian business community, focusing on the consumer goods and industrial engineering sectors.
Since 2010, Julia has served as a consultant for several local engineering firms; prior to that, she worked as an engineer at Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies both in Brazil and in the US, leading a multicultural business team in Latin America (including Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela and Mexico). She was also responsible for all packaging sustainability initiatives in Latin America. This included supporting projects to enhance the recycled materials supply chain, and working with authorities, packaging associations and top management to guarantee compliance with the new Brazilian solid waste policy. Julia has also worked in the EHS department at GE Rail spearheading environmental-related activities, and in marketing at Samarco Mineração, a Vale/BHP Billiton-owned mining company. Additionally, she owns and operates a successful small business venture, managing and overseeing multiple parking complex facilities in her native Brazil.

Julia is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish and conversant in French. Holding degrees in Chemical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) and an MBA from the University of Birmingham, UK, she is based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
