DESCRIPTION:
FoodCalc Inc. has launched EveryoneEat, a mobile app intended to assist people living with chronic diseases. The app will help make meal decisions for people at 180,000 restaurant locations nationwide.
After downloading the app, users enter their basic information (age, gender, height, weight, and activity level), as well as details about chronic health conditions and special dietary restrictions. The information is then used by FoodCalc to calculate a dietary guideline determined in collaboration with associations such as the American Diabetes Association, the National Kidney Foundation, and others. FoodCalc develops online products that offer nutrition analysis and services for the food-services industry.
Nestle has completed the acquisition of the infant nutrition business of Pfizer for $11.8 billion. Nestle said the acquisition allows it to build on its global presence and growth strategies by adding to its product mix Pfiizer Nutrition’s strong brands in emerging markets with rapidly growing populations. Pfizer has announced its intentions to sell or spin off its Animal Health business, the largest such company in the world with sales totaling $4 billion, to focus on human medicine.
