DESCRIPTION:
Last week, I had the privilege of working at The Mary Kay Foundation℠ booth at Mary Kay Inc.’s Seminar.
If you’re not familiar with this Dallas tradition, it’s the huge national convention for all Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants. More than 30,000 were predicted to attend this year.
Seminar is almost too big to describe. But I’ll give it my best shot. Seminar combines the quality of a Broadway production with the glamour of Miss America and the enthusiasm of a Super Bowl.
When I attended my first Seminar in 1994, I was moved to tears. And I don’t cry easily. Yet I was overcome with emotion as I stood in the Dallas Convention Center arena and listened to women tell how their Mary Kay business had literally changed their lives for the better.
I was so totally hooked on Mary Kay — the woman, the company and her philanthropy.
Twenty years later, I am still passionate about this company that makes a difference around the world. Last month, I urged you to follow the journey to your dreams. That’s exactly what I get to do as a coordinate and write blogs for The Mary Kay Foundation℠.
The Mary Kay Foundation℠ is Mary Kay Ash’s legacy. And I love her values. God first, family second, career third. An environment where everyone is praised to success. Beauty from the inside out. It’s everything I believe in!
I've always heard that if you love something so much that you’d do it for free, it must be your calling. And that’s how I feel. Mary Kay is in my heart. Each time I get a big dose of Mary Kay, I get a boost of enthusiasm and energy like nothing else. I felt it at The Mary Kay Foundation℠ booth last week.
If you stopped by while I was there, I loved getting to meet and talk with you. I’d love to hear from you again too.
I hope you enjoy this photo of me with Mary Kay circa 1997 and photos from this year’s Seminar.
