DESCRIPTION:

The Players Trust begins the month of August right where it ended July: Brightening days for hundreds of underserved youth.  On Friday, August 1 and Saturday, August 2, the Trust takes its Buses for Baseball and City Clinics programs to San Diego, CA, where Padres players will host two of the Trust’s most popular programs.

On Friday, Buses for Baseball, with the help of FOX Sports West’s Padres-branded Fan Express bus, rolls into San Diego to bring 50 children from Volunteers of America (VOA) Southwest’s Ballington Academy of the Arts and Sciences to PETCO Park for a once in a lifetime experience.

The children from VOA Southwest will meet Padres players Yasmani Grandal, Tim Stauffer and Alex Torres, take photographs with players, receive autographs and get a chance to watch batting practice before they get to enjoy the game against the Atlanta Braves.

On Saturday, Padres players Tommy Medica, Kevin Quackenbush and Tim Stauffer will welcome students from San Diego RBI, YMCA of San Diego County, and San Diego STAR/PAL to participate in the Players Trust's City Clinics program.

During the Clinic, the youth will have an opportunity to participate in baseball drills with the players including fielding, pitching, batting and running bases. After the drills, the Padres players will sit down and talk with the students about the importance of following your dreams and living to your full potential.

City Clinics enjoys the support of Majestic Athletic in providing the youth with a baseball experience to last a lifetime.
