DESCRIPTION:
A new model of governance for sustainability seeks to identify corporate governance practices that can effectively bring about a culture of sustainability within business organizations. In an integrated system of governance, sustainability issues are incorporated in a way that leads to value creation for the business and achieves beneficial outcomes for all stakeholders in the long term.
The model is proposed in “Integrated Governance – A New Model of Governance for Sustainability,” a new report released by the United Nations Environment Program Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), a global UN-private financial sector joint initiative. The report is produced by the Asset Management Working Group (AMWG) of the UNEP FI, and published upon the annual conference of the International Corporate Governance Network.
