(3BL Media/Justmeans) – A number of forward-thinking companies are pushing for energy and water resource efficiency and conservation, according to a new report. The report,"Achieving Energy and Water Security: Scalable Solutions from the Private Sector," has been released by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Corporate Citizenship Center. It highlights global companies that are proactively addressing energy and water challenges in their operations and across their supply chains through innovation, new technologies, and strategic partnerships.
FedEx, which moves 3.6 billion packages annually across 200 countries, has put in place a Fuel Sense Program. The program includes 40 different initiatives that the company is taking to improve operational efficiency and reduce fuel use and emissions from its transportation fleet. Fuel Sense makes use of the expertise of its flight crews, engineers and others to identify and deploy fuel efficiency opportunities. The company also relies on cross-industry partnerships to enhance monthly fuel savings.
