Eleven U.S. companies have been added to the FTSE4Good Index. Among them are Direct TV, Ecolab, Equifax, Health Care REIT, Tiffany and Company, The Hillshire Brands, DaVita, and Waste Management. The FTSE4Good Index Series has been designed to objectively measure the performance of companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards.
Wyndham Worldwide, the hospitality company, has reduced its carbon footprint by five percent over 2011. Wyndham is working towards a goal of reducing emissions by 12 percent by 2016, and by 20 percent by 2020, over 2010 levels.
The Toronto Sustainability Speaker Series will present its next event, titled “Wall Street: the New Driver for a Sustainable World?” on October 9th.The featured speaker will be Dr. Matthew Kieman, President and CEO of Inflection Point Capital Management and author of Investing in a Sustainable World, who will explain how Wall Street is increasingly using sustainability metrics to value companies.
