Amway North America today announced the winners of the Amway Who Cares Challenge: Youth Leadership Contest, honoring 10 young people who’ve shown leadership in community service.
Winners will receive $10,000 to give to the nonprofit organization of their choice, and the top five grand prize winners will also receive a trip to Free The Children’s youth empowerment event We Day, taking place in Minnesota on October 8.
Contest entries were collected online via WhoCaresChallenge.com, where applicants from the United States and Canada between the ages 13 and 22 were asked to share their stories of leadership in community service.
Television actress Debby Ryan supported the 10 week-long contest, tweeting to followers and encouraging youth across the country to submit their stories. Entries were then narrowed down to the top 100 through online public voting, and the final winners were selected by judges from contest partner Free The Children.
