DESCRIPTION:
Sanofi Canada has presented a Care Challenge Award for innovative practice to three Quebec nurses as part of the “Connecting Nurses” program. The program was launched by Sanofi and Connecting Nurses in partnership with four leading international nurses associations last year to honor the accomplishments of nurses from around the world. Twenty global winners were chosen for this year’s Care Challenge Awards.
A new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association finds that total blood cholesterol levels among adult Americans have declined to an all-time low of 196 milligrams DL. The study also notes that there has been an increase in the number of people taking cholesterol-lowering medications, and that heart-unhealthy saturated fat intake is still too high, and daily physical activity too low.
United Healthcare has donated $30,000 to help children in Mississippi to stay healthy. The award was announced at the company’s Eat4Health campaign event in Belzoni, the second of four planned presentations throughout the state. The program promotes fitness, nutrition, exercise and healthy living to prevent obesity.
